Privacy and your data

Your stories, chats, saves, characters, and imported content are stored on your own computer. When the model runs on that computer, your story text isn't uploaded anywhere to produce the next part of the story. If you point Plottery at a cloud API server under Settings > Connection, the prompt for each turn goes to that server.

The features that talk to a server are the community catalog (browsing, importing, publishing), accounts, and downloading models and voices. The app also checks for a newer version of itself and of its inference engine at startup.

Deleting and exporting

From your Profile, Download my data exports a JSON file of your account-side data: your profile, likes, and comments. Your stories aren't in it, because they were never on the server. Export those from the Stories page instead, one at a time.

The Profile also has two delete actions. One deletes all local data on this computer: stories and saves, imported templates, downloaded model files, the memory database, logs, and settings. The other deletes your account. Deleting the account removes your likes and profile, but your published templates and comments stay visible under a deleted account, so unpublish anything you want gone before you delete.
